Australian Institute of Sport Visitor Centre

Canberra, Australia – AIA Canberra Medallion 1997

Working with DJAS, Simon Kringas was the Project Architect for the design, documentation and supervision of construction of the Australian Institute of Sport Visitor Centre in Canberra. The 4000 square metre complex features retail, restaurant, theatre, exhibition and conference facilities. It is a focal point for tourists visiting the AIS Campus and a new entrance to the main Indoor Arena. The AIS Visitor Centre was awarded the peak Australian Institute of Architects 'Canberra Medallion' in 1997 – given only to architecture of an 'exemplary standard'.
